My name is Rina Rai, and Ridgeway Property Works is my independent practice — an accounting and bookkeeping studio built quietly, one client relationship at a time. I established this business as a sole trader in the United Kingdom because I believe small businesses deserve the same standard of financial care that larger organisations take for granted. Every element of how I work, from the way I structure records to how I speak with clients, is designed around that belief.

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the discipline behind numbers. I like the certainty of a reconciled balance, the honesty of a well-kept ledger, and the practical calm that comes from knowing exactly where a business stands. Over the years I have worked with sole traders, freelancers, contractors, e-commerce founders and small limited companies — and although each story is different, the pattern is the same. When financial records are neglected, decisions become guesses. When they are properly maintained, decisions become obvious.

That is the core of my professional approach. My role is not to overwhelm you with jargon or to complicate what should feel manageable. My role is to bring order to your records, quietly, consistently and with attention to detail. I want you to feel that your books are being cared for by someone who takes the responsibility seriously and who treats the numbers as if they were their own.

Financial accuracy is not a marketing line for me — it is a working practice. Every transaction I touch is categorised deliberately, every reconciliation is completed with intent, and every report I produce is reviewed before it reaches your inbox. I would rather ask a small clarifying question today than pass an assumption forward into next month's numbers. Small errors compound, and I take that quiet compounding seriously.

Client confidentiality is equally non-negotiable. Because I run the business myself, there is no wide team passing your information from one desk to another. Your records live within a small, controlled circle — mine. Documents are shared through secure channels, discussions happen through scheduled calls, and sensitive material is handled with the discretion any business owner rightly expects.

A great deal of my work is with small businesses in their earlier years — the sole trader who is building their client base, the freelancer moving beyond spreadsheets, the founder who has outgrown DIY bookkeeping but is not yet ready for a large firm. This is my favourite kind of engagement. It is where a well-organised set of books can meaningfully change how a business owner sleeps at night, how confidently they price their work, and how they plan for what comes next.

My business is built for modern accounting. That means secure document portals rather than paper files, video consultations rather than in-person visits, and cloud-based bookkeeping platforms rather than legacy desktop software. I work with the tools you already use — Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or a considered spreadsheet system — and I meet you where you are technologically comfortable. Modern does not mean cold. It means efficient, clear and respectful of your time.

I take long-term business relationships seriously. Bookkeeping done properly is not a transaction; it is a rhythm. Month after month, quarter after quarter, my aim is to become the quiet, steady part of your business that you never have to worry about. Clients who have worked with me for years often tell me the greatest compliment they can pay is that they simply stopped thinking about their books. That is exactly the outcome I work toward.

Organised financial management ripples outward into everything else. It gives you cleaner year-end preparation, faster responses when HMRC needs information, more useful conversations with lenders or investors, and a much clearer view of what your business actually earns after everything is properly accounted for. Most of my clients tell me the biggest change is not in the numbers themselves — it is in the confidence they feel making decisions.

I also believe strongly in transparent pricing. My packages are published openly on this website, with fixed prices and clearly stated scope. There are no surprise invoices, no ambiguous hourly rates and no hidden charges. If a piece of work sits outside your package, I will tell you before it starts, quote it clearly, and let you decide.

Communication is the second half of good bookkeeping. Numbers only help you if you understand what they are telling you. I write and speak plainly, avoid unnecessary jargon, and take the time to walk you through your monthly summaries in a way that actually informs your decisions. If something in your figures looks unusual, you will hear from me proactively — not months later at year-end.

As an independent sole trader, my incentives are simple. I do not have sales targets to hit, quotas to meet, or a pipeline of upsells to push. My reputation depends entirely on the quality of the work I do for the clients I already have. That alignment matters, and I think you can feel it in how the work is delivered.

I am based at 56 South Farm Road, BN14 7AE, in the United Kingdom, and I work with clients across the country remotely. Whether you are a first-time sole trader looking for a simple monthly rhythm or an established small business owner wanting a genuine finance function without the cost of a large firm, I would be glad to hear from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read about how I work. If any of this resonates, the next step is a short, no-obligation consultation. I will listen carefully, ask the questions that matter and give you an honest view of whether working together makes sense for your business. Either way, you will leave the conversation with more clarity than you had before.
