Answers to the questions I'm asked most.
If you don't see your question here, please get in touch — I aim to respond within one business day.
How does your bookkeeping service work?
After an initial consultation, I review your existing records and agree a fixed monthly scope. I then categorise transactions, reconcile your accounts and share a monthly summary — all through secure document sharing.
How are documents shared securely?
I use encrypted document-sharing portals and encrypted email where appropriate. You never need to send sensitive documents over unprotected channels, and access can be revoked at any time.
Can services be provided fully remotely?
Yes. Every service is designed to be delivered remotely from my registered address in the United Kingdom, using video consultations and secure online tools.
How often are reports prepared?
Monthly summaries are prepared for ongoing packages. Quarterly and annual reporting support is included in the higher-tier packages.
Do you support sole traders?
Yes. A large portion of my clients are sole traders and freelancers who need clear, organised records without the overhead of a large firm.
How are payments handled?
One-time projects are paid securely at booking. Ongoing monthly packages are invoiced at the start of each month with clear payment terms.
What accounting software do you support?
I work with commonly used bookkeeping platforms including Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and spreadsheet-based systems, adapting to the tools you already use.
Are you registered for Anti-Money Laundering supervision?
As a UK sole trader providing bookkeeping services, I follow the standards expected under HMRC's Anti-Money Laundering regulations. See the Anti-Money Laundering Statement for details.
Do you offer tax return submissions?
My focus is bookkeeping and financial record management. I prepare records to a standard that makes tax return preparation straightforward for you or your appointed accountant.
What if my records are behind?
That's very common. I can begin with a catch-up engagement to bring records up to date before moving into a regular monthly rhythm.
How long does onboarding take?
Most clients are fully onboarded within one to two weeks of the initial consultation, depending on record complexity.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. Ongoing packages are month-to-month with a simple 30-day notice period on either side.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my package?
Yes. Packages can be adjusted at the start of any month based on your changing business needs.
Is my financial information kept confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is central to how I work. See the Client Confidentiality Policy for full details on data handling.
Do you work with limited companies?
Yes. I support small limited companies with bookkeeping, reconciliations and management reporting suited to their reporting cycle.
Where are you based?
I operate from 56 South Farm Road, BN14 7AE, United Kingdom. All services are delivered remotely to clients across the UK.
How quickly do you respond to enquiries?
I respond to all new enquiries within one business day, usually much sooner.
Do you provide financial or tax advice?
I provide bookkeeping and financial record management. Regulated tax or financial advice should be sought from an appropriately qualified professional.
What happens at the initial consultation?
We discuss your business, your current record-keeping situation, and the outcomes you're looking for. There's no obligation — the goal is to see whether working together makes sense.
Can you help me switch from another bookkeeper?
Yes. I regularly onboard clients from previous providers and handle the transition of records, portals and processes professionally and discreetly.
